People of CERGE-EI: Meet Our Alumni

5 October, 2020

Our PhD alumnus Vahagn Jerbashian said in an interview for the CERGE-EI blog that economics is a lot like physics but much more interesting.
Vahagn spoke about his journey from theoretical mathematics to economics, his current research interests, and the importance of beer parties.

"I felt that economics is a lot like physics but much more interesting in the sense that it tries to explain the behavior of people, firms, and the results of their interactions, instead of atoms and stars," described Vahagn on how studying economics got his attention.

Vahagn has been working as an Assistant Professor at the University of Barcelona since 2013, but he is also a board member of the Armenian Economic Association. Read the full interview to find out more.
