New Academic Year at CERGE-EI

While October brings new beginnings, new faces, and new ideas to all academic institutions, this year is particularly special for CERGE-EI.

First of all, we are is delighted to welcome two new faculty members: Assistant Professor Achim Ahrens, PhD., who specializes in applied econometrics, migration, and labor economics, and Assistant Professor Stephanie Ettmeier, Ph.D, whose expertise lies in empirical macroeconomics, applied macroeconometrics, and economic history. Their knowledge and perspectives will enrich our teaching and research. 

We are equally excited to welcome our new students, who are  joining our PhD in Economics and Master in Economic Research programs. They come from 12 various countries in total. 

For the very first time, we are also welcoming Bachelor students of the Economics of Markets and Organizations program, developed in cooperation between the Prague University of Economics and Business and CERGE-EI. Our Academic Exchange Program (AEP) is welcoming its largest cohort ever.

Congratulations to our Master students who have successfully defended their theses and joined the alumni community, alongside our PhD and MA graduates from May.
