PhD Candidates Are Finishing Their Studies

Some of our PhD Candidates are finishing their studies at CERGE-EI throughout this summer. We wish all the best to those who were successful and keep our fingers crossed for those who are about to shine.

On Tuesday, 14 July, Ivo Bakota defended his dissertation "Essays in Macroeconomics with Heterogeneous Agents and Portfolio Choice". The Dissertation Committee for Ivo involved Byeongju Jeong, Marek Kapička, Filip Matějka, and Ctirad Slavík as the chair. Ivo is currently holding a postdoctoral position at Munich Center for the Economics of Aging, Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy.

On Thursday, 20 August, Vladimir Novak defended his dissertation "Essays on Costly Information Acquisition in Economics". Filip Matějka was present as the chair of the Dissertation Committee, consisting further of Michal Kejak, Gérard Roland, and Jan Zápal. Vladimir's next career step shall be a postdoctoral position at Bocconi University in Milan.

PhD Candidate Danijela Vuletić is up next. She will be defending her dissertation "Essays in Behavioral Economics" on Monday, 7 September.
