Final Workshop of a Visegrad+ Project

6 September, 2025

From August 29 – September 4, the final workshop of the project “Localizing Economic Education for V4 Countries and Beyond” took place at CERGE-EI. This project of Economics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences, in partnership with the CERGE-EI Foundation, was co-financed by Visegrad+ Grants from the International Visegrad Fund.

Seven participants came from our partner universities (University of Matej Bel in Banská Bystrica, Faculty of Management at Comenius University Bratis

lava, University of Debrecen, Armenian State University of Economics Gyumri Branch, University of Lodz, and Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University).

Throughout the week, participants shared their experiences in adapting and applying localized teaching materials in their classrooms and explored opportunities for future collaboration, including joint research initiatives. CERGE-EI faculty members provided guidance; pedagogical training and support from the Academic Skills Center  enriched the program further.

The week concluded with a visit to the Czech National Bank, where CERGE-EI alumnus and CNB Senior Economist Branislav Saxa offered valuable insights into monetary policy and financial market oversight.

It has been a pleasure to bring together such a dynamic group of educators, researchers, and partners. We look forward to our future collaboration.
