We are proud to announce that this year’s "Young Economist of the Year" competition was a great success for CERGE-EI, with the top two prizes awarded to CERGE-EI students!

Mykola Babiak won first prize for his paper "Generalized Disappointment Aversion, Learning, and Asset Prices". Nikoloz Kudashvili came second with "Sources of Statistical Discrimination: Experimental Evidence from Georgia".

In addition, we would like to congratulate IDEA researcher, Petr Pleticha, who received the CES President’s Recognition Award (for authors under 25 years of age) for his paper "Entrepreneurship in the Information Age: An Empirical Analysis of the European Regions".

The annual competition, which is organized by the Czech Economic Society, seeks to identify and award the most talented young students of economics.
