We are pleased to announce the Academic positions our PhD graduates will take up next year.

In September 2017, Dejan Kovač (PhD Candidate, expected graduation 2017) will take up a Postdoctoral Research Associate position at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University in the US. On receiving his placement, Dejan said “Getting a Postdoctoral appointment at Princeton University is a dream come true for many young researchers. It puts you into an environment to do world-class research and to be at the forefront of innovation. I would surely not be at this stage without CERGE-EI. CERGE-EI provided rigorous training during my PhD study that pushed my research to the frontiers of innovation. Access to renowned academics through CERGE-EI research seminars and my mobility stay at Princeton University allowed me to work with top researchers in my field.“

In January 2018, Ján Palguta (PhD Graduate 2016) will take up a Visiting Professor position at the Department of Economics, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Ján said “It feels great to receive such an offer. The university is strongly dedicated to excellence in research and teaching. I am very much looking forward to joining their faculty and moving to Madrid, which is a beautiful city. CERGE-EI gave me an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in economics. I benefited from the excellent courses in econometrics and applied economics, cooperation with senior applied researchers, and my mobility stays at the Stockholm School of Economics. I learned a lot from my participation in applied research projects, which gave me access to interesting data and research questions.”
