CERGE-EI Students at Meeting of Nobel Laureates

CERGE-EI has been invited to nominate two students for the Meeting of the Winners of the Bank of Sweden Prize in Economic Science in Memory of Alfred Nobel in Lindau, Germany, which will be held from August 19-23, 2014. It is a great privilege for CERGE-EI to appoint student representatives to such a prominent event. Our nominees are Martin Kuncl and Volha Audzei.

Š. Jurajda Awarded a Commemorative Medal

CERGE-EI’s former director, Štěpán Jurajda, has been awarded a commemorative medal by Charles University for his long and exceptional development work for CERGE UK. The ceremony took place on March 27, 2014 in the Small Assembly Hall at the Carolinum during the Charles University Scientific Council meeting.

Charles University Introduces Its New Rector

Effective February 1st 2014, Professor Tomáš Zima has assumed the position of rector of Charles University. He has been inaugurated on Tuesday March 4th 2014. CERGE-EI, as a joint workplace of Charles University and the Academy of Sciences, wishes all the best to the newly appointed rector.
