Winners of the New Economic Talent 2015 Student Competition Announced

4 June, 2015

The winner for this year is Cristiano Mantovani from Bocconi University in Italy. Second place and also a special prize for the best bachelor paper in the competition goes to Nodira Khaydarova from Westminster International University in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Third is José Javier Domínguez Ramírez from the University of Granada in Spain.

Nobel Laureate Finn Kydland Takes Part in Distinguished Speaker Series – Video Now Available to View

As part of CERGE-EI’s Distinguished Speakers Series, with generous support from Tatra Banka foundation, Nobel Laureate Finn Kydland visited CERGE-EI on Thursday 23 April, 2015. He met with several faculty members and students to discuss their research and in the afternoon gave a public lecture "Innovation  and Capital Formation in Today’s Policy Environment". Euro's Suitability for the Czech Republic To Be Discussed during Debate of Leading Economists in New York

Prof Jan Švejnar, who was awarded the 2015 IZA prize, will participate in Columbia University's SIPA 2015 Leaders in Global Economic Governance Lecture: "Europe: The Current Situation and the Way Forward". The lecture will feature an address by Wolfgang Schäuble, Germany's Federal Minister of Finance. A panel discussion follows when Prof Švejnar will be joined by colleagues Joseph Stiglitz, Edmund Phelps and Alessandra Casella. You can watch the event live online from midnight CEST (6 p.m. EDT) on 15 April, 2015.
