My Enchanting Chateau Film Premiere

You are invited to a world premiere screening of an autobiographic story about the Schebek dynasty and its legacy.

My Enchanting Chateau is a documentary film that peeks into the life of the Schebek family through the eyes of one of its descendants, film director Bernard Šafařík.

The premiere will take place on 24 May, 2016 from 7pm at CERGE-EI's Schebek Palace, Politických vězňů 7, Prague 1.

Jan Schebek, an influential 19th century railroad builder, constructed, among others, the monumental Schebek Palace in the center of Prague, now home to the CERGE-EI institute. Later on, the Palace was sold and the family moved to the castle located in a quiet town called Zruč nad Sázavou.

The documentary film depicts the story of the chateau in which his family once lived. Accentuated against real historical events, the author also tries to materialize the legacy his once influential family could have impressed into this sleepy little town.

After the screening, a discussion with the film director will be hosted.

Seats are limited so we kindly ask you to reserve one by filling out a short form.
