Andrés Solimano "Economic Elites, Crises and Democracy"
We are pleased to invite you to a book presentation by Prof. Andrés Solimano at CERGE-EI on November 19th, 4:30pm. Professor Solimano will be presenting his new book Economic Elites, Crises and Democracy (Oxford University Press).
The book examines the formation of economic elites and the rise of the super-rich in both high-income and emerging economies. The book goes on to explore the segmentation of the middle class, the relative marginalization of the traditional working class, and their interplaying dynamics during crisis situations.
Andrés Solimano holds a PhD in economics from MIT and currently works as Regional Advisor at the United Nations-Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).
