Who will you meet?
- Sebastian Ottinger, a CERGE-EI Assistant Professor, an Applied Microeconomist with research projects in Urban Economics and Political Economy, all of which draw on European or American Economic History. He will talk about New Technologies and Their Effects on Society: Evidence from the Habsburg Business Registry
- Theodor Kouro, our PhD candidate and Job Market Candidate, with a focus on behavioral, experimental, and development economics. His talk will be on Desirable Ideal or Achievable Reality: Behavioral Insights from Parental Educational Decisions in Albania
- Michal Šoltés, Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics and Empirical Legal Studies, Charles University Faculty of Law, and CERGE-EI alumnus, with research interests in public economics, empirical legal studies, economics of crime, and criminal justice. His talk will focus on Consistency in Decision-Making
- Clara Sievert, Assistant Professor at CERGE-EI, who came to Prague from Harvard. Her research is focused on development economics, political economy, and health. She will discuss whether Do Markets Make Us Wealthier, Happier—and Change Who We Are? Experimental Evidence from the D.R. Congo
- Gayane Baghumyan, our PhD candidate with research interests in applied econometrics, causal inference, experimental economics, and behavioral science. She will talk about Ambiguity and Racial Discrimination
- Filip Pertold, Associate Professor of Professional Practice at CERGE-Ei, and researcher at the IDEA think-tank, who focuses on applied microeconomics, public economics, labor markets, retirement, and education, will introduce us to Policy changes under the IDEA think-tank
- Branislav Saxa, Principal Economist at the Czech National Bank and CERGE-EI alumnus, will help us to understand Digital Money in Motion: Stablecoins and CBDCs in 2026
