30 November, 2015

We are proud to announce that CERGE-EI doctoral students have again taken all three top prizes in this year's Young Economist of the Year competition of the Czech Economic Society.

Jakub Matějů took the first place for his paper "Limited Liability, Asset Price Bubbles and the Credit Cycle: The Role of Monetary Policy". Maxim Goryunov came second with "Sorting When Firms Have Size". The third prize went to Ján Palguta for his paper "Political Rent-Seeking in Public Procurement: Evidence from the Entry of Political Challengers at Electoral Thresholds"

CERGE-EI students were successful also in 2013 and 2014.

The annual competition seeks to identify and award the most talented young students of economics.
