The Gold Medal of Charles University Awarded to Štěpán Jurajda

Professor Štěpán Jurajda has been awarded the Gold Medal of Charles University for his contribution to the development of CERGE-EI. The Medal and Diploma were handed over by the rector of Charles University Tomáš Zima on Tuesday, 1 July.

Together with Štěpán, nine more remarkable personalities of Charles University were honored for their research excellence and life-long achievement.

Prof. Ing. Štěpán Jurajda, Ph.D. joined CERGE-EI in 1997 as an Assistant Professor. During 2009-2013 he was the director of the institution. In his research, Štěpán focuses mainly on labor economics and related topics. In 2014, he received the Charles University Silver Medal for the development of CERGE-EI. He is currently also a member of NERV (National Economic Council of the Government) and the Government Council for Research, Development, and Innovation.
