CERGE-EI faculty member becomes an Associate Editor for the American Economic Review

3 May, 2017

We are delighted to announce that Jakub Steiner, a CERGE-EI senior faculty member, has become  an Associate Editor for the American Economic Review (AER), starting in May 2017.

The American Economic Review was established in 1911 and is among the world's most venerable and respected scholarly economics journals. In the last three years, CERGE-EI researchers have had five papers published in the AER.

As new associate editor, Jakub Steiner stated:  "One cannot decline an invitation to become an Associate Editor in the American Economic Review. It challenges me to remain on the fast developing frontier of my field of research and to participate in current development of economic theory. I perceive the invitations to the AER and REStud editorial boards as confirmations that the reviews I have written for these journals in the past were valuable for the editors.”

Jakub Steiner is an Associate Professor with tenure at CERGE-EI (under US permanent charter), a member of the Executive and Supervisory Committee of CERGE-EI, and a Senior Researcher at the Economics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Since 2016, he is also an Associate Editor for the Review of Economic Studies (REStud), the top European economics journal. He has authored and co-authored many papers which have been published in top global economic journals, including papers in the AER in 2016 and 2012.
