Marie Curie Fellowships
CALL FOR DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP AT CERGE-EI IN 2008-2009

Center for Economic Research and Graduate Education of Charles University (CERGE), Prague and Economics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (EI), Prague Announce the Opening of 5 Marie-Curie Host Fellowships for Early Stage Training (EST)

What

5 short-term fellowships for 3, 6, or 9 months of Research training at CERGE-EI (joint workplace of Center for Economic Research and Graduate Education of Charles University (CERGE), Prague, Economics Institute, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (EI), Prague are available, 3 fellowships are at CERGE UK and two at EI AS CR (maximum 1 fellowship available for non EU or non Associate Member State nationals). One long-term (more than 12 month) fellowship will be available in the next academic year.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Eligible Research Training Activities

Duration

  • 3, 6 or 9 months fellowships

  • Only full time research activities at CERGE-EI are eligible

  • The researchers benefiting from the research training activities for more than 1 year shall be hosted by more than 1 partner for a period of at least 3 months.


  • The applicant must also register as a PhD student at either Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL), CORE, Louvain, CERGE-EI, Prague, or Central European University (CEU), Budapest.

  • Eligible research training activities must consist of activities in Public Policy, Market Organization and/or Transition Economies.

  • Eligible Applicants

    Nationality

    • National of an EU member State, Associated State or third country (max. 30%)

    • The applicant may not be Czech resident/national (see full restriction rules on the website given by the nature of the Marie-Curie action)
    • The applicant may not have resided (or carried out his/her research activity) in the Czech Republic for more than 12 moths in the past 3 years
    • A researcher from a third country having legally resided or/and having had his/her main activity in the Community or in Associated State(s) for at least 4 years (in total) out of the last five years immediately prior to his/her appointment is treated as a national of the Member State or Associated State in which (s)he has resided for the longest period.

    Qualifications/research experience

    • The applicant must be in the first 4 years of his/her research activities since gaining a university degree giving him/her access to doctoral studies
    • The applicant may not have a doctoral degree
    • Proficiency in English is required: IELTS, TOEFL, degree from an English speaking institution, or equivalent proofs are acceptable.
