Library Card

A library card must be presented each time you borrow or return library materials. The person named on the card is responsible for all library transactions. If you lose your library card, or if your card is stolen, you must report it immediately to a member of the library staff.

Mo-Fr: 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Sa: 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Loan Policy

Library materials must be returned no later than the date or time due.
No items belonging to the library can be taken outside the Czech Republic without special permission of the librarian.

Long loans: four weeks

  • books, working papers, journal duplicates
  • Semester loan: one semester

  • material marked as the necessary study supplement for a given semester
  • Short loan: overnight (must be returned the next day before 11 a.m.)

  • the Reserve Collection material: books, journals, copies
  • journals: both current and back-issues (unbound and bound)
  • statistics
  • Reference: not available for borrowing

  • unique publications, newspapers, reference CD ROMs, reference books

    Interlibrary Loans

    The CERGE-EI library will endeavour to locate and borrow library materials not available in the CERGE-EI library. Fees may be charged for this service. Sanctions will be applied if the interlibrary loan material is not returned on time.

    Fines for Overdue Items

    Overdue reserve and other short-term loans: 10,- Kc per day. The maximum fine is 200 Kc per item.
    Lost and damaged materials (must be reported to the library): you will be charged to cover the replacement costs.
